Terms and Conditions

Instructions on how to enter the “RØDE Creator of the Year Awards” competition (“the Competition”) and details regarding the Competition contained herein form part of these Terms and Conditions. Entry into and participation in this Competition is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. This Competition is not valid in conjunction with any other offer, competition or promotion by RØDE.
The Competition is free to enter and open to any person, subject to paragraph 3 below, except employees of RØDE and residents of North Korea, Russia, Iran, Syria, and Myanmar. The Competition will be void in any other jurisdiction where it is prohibited.
Minors are entitled to enter the Competition, provided they have the consent of a parent or guardian to enter and participate in the Competition, and provide that parent or guardian’s details upon entry to the Competition for verification by RØDE. For the purposes of the Competition, Entrants will be considered as Minors if they are over the age of 13 years old and:
1. Under the age of 20 years old if they are from Japan or Thailand
2. Under the age of 19 if they are from South Korea
3. Under the age of 18 in all other countries.
The Competition commences at 10:00am AEDT on 30 September 2025 (the “Commencement Date”) and closes at 10:00am AEDT on 30 October 2025 (the “Closing Date”). The period between the Commencement Date and the Closing Date is the Competition entry period.
1. The “Voter Phase” for the ‘People’s Choice’ portion of the Competition commences at 10:00am AEDT on 6^th November, 2025 (the “Voter Commencement Date”) and closes at 10:00am AEDT on 19 November 2025 (the “Voter Closing Date”). The period between the Voter Commencement Date and the Voter Closing Date is the “Voter Competition” entry period.
To participate in the Competition as a Creator, the Entrant must visit the website www.creatorawards.rode.com and complete the submission form, after the Commencement Date and prior to the Closing Date. This form includes information on:
1. Entrants must provide at least one (1) URL linking directly to the video content submitted for consideration. The video may be hosted on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, or any other recognised online platform or channel. Such URLs shall be referred to as the “Submitted Content,” and the Entrant’s nominated channel shall be referred to as the “Channel;
2. Further information regarding the Entrant’s Channel, including name, URL, the year the Channel was first launched, and a brief description of the Channel;
3. An “Eligible RØDE Product”, as defined by the below list. While submitting your Eligible RØDE Product’s serial number is not compulsory for entry, if an Entrant is selected for shortlisting, the Entrant is required to provide the Eligible RØDE Product’s serial number or proof of purchase.

The Submitted Content and Channel must not defame any person or entity, be disparaging to any religion, race, or nation, contain language that is lewd, obscene or inappropriate, graphic nudity or explicit acts of violence, or use any copyrights, images, marks, trademarks or logos for which the Entrant has not obtained permission for their use. RØDE reserves the right to disqualify any Entrant who does not comply with the conditions set out in this clause.
Submitted Content must be the original work of the Entrant and may not be generated, in whole or in substantial part, using artificial intelligence (AI) tools or platforms. RØDE reserves the right to disqualify any entry it determines, in its sole discretion, to have been wholly generated or significantly assisted by AI based on evidence available. By submitting an entry, the Entrant acknowledges and agrees that RØDE’s determination regarding the originality of the entry and AI use is final.
Categories for the Competition will be displayed on the website to provide Entrants with a clear understanding of the types of content being recognised. However, Entrants will not be required to select or nominate a category upon entry. All eligible submissions will be reviewed and placed into the most appropriate category by an internal RØDE judging panel, based on the nature and style of the Submitted Content.
The Entrant shall be the one individual person most responsible for the creation, filming, producing and editing of the Submitted Content and Channel.
To enter the Voter Competition, the “Voter Competition Entrant” must visit the website www.creatorawards.rode.com after 10:00am AEDT on 6th November 2025 (the “Voter Commencement Date”) and before 10:00am AEDT on 19 November 2025 (the “Voter Closing Date”). On this page, the Entrant must register to vote and submit their vote under the following conditions:
1. A Voter Competition Entrant must vote for 1 (one) shortlisted Entrant for the People’s Choice Award;
2. Answer a question provided in the submission form, upon which the Voter Entrant will be judged by RØDE for eligibility for the Voter Competition;
3. Provide personal and contact information for the purpose of being contacted upon the event of winning the Voter Competition
Entrants must complete all of the steps itemised in paragraphs 5 or 10 to the satisfaction of RØDE in its sole discretion, within the Competition Entry Period. RØDE will only accept entries made outside the Entry Period at its discretion.
By entering the Competition, Entrants acknowledge, agree and declare that they participate at their own risk and that they hereby waive, surrender and relinquish in favour of RØDE all claims of any nature and howsoever arising (including as a result of negligence) which but for this waiver, surrender and relinquishment they may or otherwise have against RØDE either directly or indirectly arising out of their participation in the Competition.
By entering the Competition, Entrants hereby warrant that all information submitted is true, current and complete. Any Entrants who have supplied incomplete, inaccurate or fraudulent information may be automatically disqualified. RØDE reserves the right to disqualify any Entrant if RØDE has reasonable grounds to believe that an Entrant has breached any of these terms and conditions or has tampered with the Competition process. Failure by RØDE to enforce any of its rights at any stage of the Competition does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
Incomplete, indecipherable or illegible Submitted Content will be deemed invalid. Entrants bear all responsibility to ensure that their entry is complete and legible.
Entrants are entitled to submit a single entry, any attempts at submitting further entries will deem the entries invalid.
The costs of entering the Competition shall be borne solely by the Entrant.
Entrants acknowledge their entry is original and does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party. The Entrant grants to RØDE a non-exclusive, irrevocable license to RØDE to publish their Submitted Content in full on the RØDE website and social channels and communicate their Submitted Content to the public in the territory of the world, and in full or in part in any other promotional material of RØDE. Entrants also agree that RØDE is not required to attribute the Entrant as author of the entry, and consent to any other act or omission that would otherwise infringe any moral rights in their entry.
After the Closing Date, all eligible Competition entries will be evaluated by an internal RØDE judging panel, with judging based on the following specific categories:

One Entrant will be chosen by RØDE as the winner of the “Creator of the Year Award” major prize. If an Entrant is successful in winning this prize, they will not be eligible for any other prize in the Competition.
One Entrant will be chosen by RØDE as the winner of the “Emerging Creator of the Year Award” major prize. If an Entrant is successful in winning this prize, they will not be eligible for any other prize in the Competition.
1. For an Entrant to be eligible to receive the Emerging Creator of the Year Award, their primary Channel must have been created in the year 2024 or 2025.
One Entrant will be chosen by RØDE as the winner for each category itemised in paragraph 16 above; these are the “Category Awards”. If an Entrant is successful in winning a Category Award, they will not be eligible for any other Award in the Competition.
One Entrant will be awarded the “People’s Choice Award” based on the results of the public voting phase of the Competition. RØDE will shortlist up to ten (10) Entrants for public voting. The shortlisted Entrant who receives the highest number of valid votes during the voting period will be deemed the winner of the People’s Choice Award.
The winner of the Creator of the Year Award, Emerging Creator of the Year Award, and the Category Awards shall be determined as follows:
1. A judging panel shall be appointed by RØDE in its sole discretion;
2. After the Closing Date, RØDE shall determine a shortlist of the best Submitted Content and Channels;
3. The judging panel shall view the Submitted Content on the shortlist determined by RØDE;
4. By the end of November 19, 2025, the judging panel shall determine the winners in the judging panel’s sole discretion;
5. The judging shall be based only on the subjective personal opinions of the judging panel and shall be final;
6. RØDE accepts no liability for the decisions made by the judging panel, and no correspondence will be entered into in this regard;
7. RØDE shall aim to notify the winners of each Award within forty-eight (48) hours of the determination of the winners by email to the winners; and
8. The winners shall be entitled to receive their respective prizes.
The winners of the People’s Choice Awards shall be determined as follows:
1. A judging panel shall be appointed by RØDE in its sole discretion;
2. After the Closing Date, RØDE shall determine a shortlist of the best Submitted Content and Channels;
3. Between the Voter Commencement Date and Voter Closing Date, the shortlist of Entrants, including their Submitted Content and Channel, will be displayed on the website creatorawards.rode.com, where voting will be open to the general public (Voters);
4. All voting will be completed by the end of the Voting Closing Date, and no votes submitted after the Voting End Time will be accepted by RØDE;
5. By the end of November 19, 2025, the votes will be tallied and shall determine the winners, with RØDE reserving the right to invalidate votes for entries that are deemed illegitimate, malicious, manipulative, or where there is in RØDE’s opinion any irregularity in the voting process;
6. The judging shall be based only on the subjective personal opinions of the Voters and shall be final;
7. RØDE accepts no liability for the decisions made by the Voters, and no correspondence will be entered into in this regard;
8. RØDE shall aim to notify the winners of each Award within forty-eight (48) hours of the determination of the winners by email to the winners; and

All prize packs that include a cash dollar amount will be delivered in the form of a wire transfer of US Dollars (USD)
RØDE reserves the right to award further Prizes or Prize Packs to winners, or to alter the content of any Prize Pack in whole or in part at any time, whether by adding or removing Prizes provided that any substituted Prize or Prize Pack shall be of equal or greater value that the original Prize or Prize Pack. Any changes in the Prizes or the content of the Prize Packs shall be notified by RØDE as soon as reasonably practicable.
The Prize Packs on offer in the Competition, in full or in part, are non-transferable, non-negotiable, non-refundable, are not redeemable, and are subject to availability.
All Prizes in each Prize Pack will be new and in their original packing with their applicable warranty. All electronic prizes will be in Australian specification by default, however RØDE will make reasonable efforts to provide prizes in the specification of the winners’ country.
RØDE shall make reasonable efforts to deliver the Prize Packs to their respective winners at each winner’s address specified in the Competition Entry Form within twelve (12) weeks of end of November 2025. RØDE shall not be liable for any delays in delivery of the Prize Packs. All shipping costs for the Prize Packs to the winners’ address shall be paid by RØDE. Any duty of other import costs for the Prize Packs shall be paid by the winners.
RØDE shall not be liable for any tax payable on the value of a Prize Pack in a winner’s country, and any tax payable shall be borne by each winner. Where required by law, RØDE shall inform the local taxation authorities of the Prizes received by the winners.
Each winner agrees to participate in reasonable post-competition publicity for RØDE at RØDE’s expense, including but not limited to their attendance for interviews, photographs, videos and any other promotional activity specified by RØDE, and grant a nonexclusive, irrevocable license to RØDE to use their name, biographical details, photographs, videos, likenesses and any other information regarding the winner deemed appropriate for use by RØDE for any promotional and marketing purposes by RØDE for a period of five (5) year from the Closing Date.
Each Entrant warrants that he or she has no other agreements or arrangements with any third parties relating to the performance, service, image, name or likeness and/or other rights that may interfere with his or her entry into the Competition and the execution of his or her obligations as the winner in this Competition.
The terms and conditions of a related third-party supplier or suppliers of prizes may apply and shall be accepted by the winner or winners.
If this Competition is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of RØDE, RØDE reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law (a) to disqualify any Entrant; or (b) to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the Competition, as appropriate.
Any cost associated with accessing the Competition website is the Entrant's responsibility and is dependent on the Internet service provider used. RØDE makes no guarantee of the availability of its web services and will not be held responsible for interruption of service that may interfere with the ability to participate in the Competition.
Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, RØDE (including its officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of this Competition, including, but not limited to, where arising out of the following: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under RØDE's control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any entry that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by RØDE) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of RØDE; (d) any variation in the type and specifications of the prizes to that stated in these Terms and Conditions; (e) any prize that has not been received by the claimant after dispatch by RØDE; (f) any prize that has been damaged in transit; (g) any tax liability incurred by an Entrant; or (h) use of the prizes.
This Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by or associated with a social network.
The Competition is a game of skill and chance plays no part in determining winner/s.
RØDE collects personal information of the Entrants in order to conduct the Competition and may, for this purpose, disclose such information to third parties, including but not limited to agents, contractors, service providers, prize suppliers and as required by law, to Australian or other regulatory authorities. Entry to the Competition is conditional on providing this personal information, and the Entrant must consent to the use of their personal information for the purposes of the Competition. RØDE may, for an indefinite period, and provided that the Entrant has not withdrawn their consent, use the information for promotional, marketing, publicity, research and/or profiling purposes, including sending electronic messages or telephoning the Entrant. The Entrant may opt out of any promotional, marketing, publicity, research and/or profiling conducted by RØDE using their personal information at any time by giving RØDE notice of their intention to opt out. RØDE shall maintain all personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy set out at https://rode.com/about/privacy-policy. Entrants should direct any request to access, update or correct information to RØDE.
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New South Wales, Australia. Entrants agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the State of New South Wales, Australia. RØDE shall comply with any laws applicable in the location where the Competition is held.
RØDE hereby reserves the right to change, suspend or cancel the Competition, or to change these terms and conditions, by notice on the RØDE website. RØDE shall not be required to specify any reasons for the changes and shall not incur any liability as a result.
